MY GOALSpace travel has been a concept that has been explored for several decades, although, it has never been in as much focus as now. With the world’s resources nearing depletion and living space becoming more cramped, scientists and innovators are looking towards space to be our savior. However, people don’t realize that most of the youth directly correlates space travel with Star Wars and is otherwise highly misinformed about the wonders of actual rockets.
With my personal project, I intend to explore and understand how rockets are made and how they function. My goal is also to foster my peers’ interest in this topic to produce more people from our generation who can help the world advance into this step towards the future. To a larger extent, my goal is to help people familiarize with the concept of space travel, as it is going to be one of the essential technological advancements of this century. This goal is highly challenging because rockets are a complex form of technology, notoriously known to be a type of science that is nearly impossible to understand. Not only is it difficult to personally understand the topic, but it will also be very difficult to explain it in such a manner in which adolescents can learn and gain value from. The community relevance of the product is to create a society of rocket pioneers who can help to innovate this generational technological advancement in order to bring humans to their next stage of evolution, while also personally improving my knowledge on this topic |
The global context chosen in this project was ‘Scientific and Technical Innovation’. This refers to the use of human knowledge of scientific principles to produce technical advancements. My topic relates directly to the global context as space travel is the epitome of technical advancement. Rocketry has fueled generations of innovation to happen in mere decades, especially during the Cold War’s Space Race. Rockets also utilize a versatile framework of scientific knowledge through mathematics, engineering, physics and chemistry, making this global context a perfect match. |
